I am constantly searching for great places to try and buy new wine. These are my current favorite e-commerce and physical stores. Of course a great wine store is one part selection/curation and another part service. Each of these purveyors excel at both. All are worth checking out.
Vitecole Wine is an amazing new digital wine store and travel blog from Brian McClintic. Each month on the 1st of the month Brian posts a new story and offer from somewhere in the world. These offers feature great hand selected and affordable wines from innovative small producers. They sell out quickly, but you can subscribe to the Club to ensure your allocation. I would also recommend following Brian on Instagram.
Quite simply the craziest wine store I have ever seen. Go here for an insane selection of high end bottles, huge bottles and rare whiskey. Located in London's Mayfair neighborhood, this place is mind boggling. A vertical of Screaming Eagle, why of course, and right next to a wall of rare Bordeaux. While you could certainly drop thousands of Pounds here, there are also tasting stations and hundreds of more affordable offerings
While there are bigger and more famous shops across NYC, Terrys small shop on Greenwich Ave has a very well curated selection. This shop features smaller wineries from around the world but also always seems to have some of my favorites like Bedrock, Littorai, Macán, etc. The staff is great, and will point you in the right direction no matter your budget or style preference. Well worth a stop next time you are in the Village.
